Well, this part is supposed to me about me, so I guess I’ll just tell you some interesting facts. First of all, I was born in Lima, Ohio and graduated from Lima Senior High School. My hometown has a Lima Bean as a mascot, and my college, Ohio State University, has a Buckeye, which is a poisonous nut. This may explain why I’ve turned out to be so strange.

I’ve been writing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I wrote stories on a yellow legal pad and showed them to my grandpa, who told me they were very good. (In fact, they were not very good.) I also created my own homemade newspapers made from a folded sheet of looseleaf paper, and I also made a comic book series called The Sticksons. They were all stick people. This also explains why I didn’t consider graphic arts as a career choice.

I’ve held many jobs in my life. They include the following: pool cleaner, text book repair person, office assistant for the French department at Ohio State, babysitter, retail Indonesian clothing sales clerk, library assistant, maker of big structures using refrigerator boxes, publicity director for a theatre company, curriculum writer, software writer, journalist, columnist, playwright, singer, and high school teacher. As you can see, I like to keep busy.

As to family life, I am married to Chris Klich, an accomplished and very talented jazz woodwind player and college professor. We have two sons, Austin (13) and Noel (almost 4) who keep us occupied.
